Practical help for Apple Health, missing finds, device sync, notifications and installation.

No new finds are appearing

  1. Open Health Island on your iPhone. New movement finds originate only there.
  2. Check that Apple Health contains current steps and active energy.
  3. In Apple Health, open your profile → Privacy → Apps → Health Island and allow read access to Steps and Active Energy.
  4. Return to Health Island and retry the read if a circular arrow appears.

Already discovered items remain. See the full Apple Health guide.

Health Island shows 0 kcal

Steps and active energy are separate Apple Health records. If steps are present but active energy is not, Health Island continues to use the steps and removes nothing. Check our active energy guide.

My island differs between iPhone and iPad

  1. Make sure both devices use the same Apple Account and have iCloud Drive enabled.
  2. Open Health Island on iPhone first and leave it open briefly.
  3. Then reopen the app on iPad.
  4. If the states still differ, send a short report through feedback or email.

Without iCloud, the last local island remains usable. See Privacy for storage details.

Private sync also covers verified island days, compact action evidence, arcade run counts and personal bests. Names in local top-ten lists and individual arcade runs stay on the respective device and are not sent to app analytics.

I’m not receiving find notifications

Health Island asks separately after Apple Health is connected. If you previously declined, enable notifications under Settings → Notifications → Health Island. New finds may be detected in the background, but iOS controls delivery timing. Notifications are created on your device and contain no health values.

If notifications are already allowed, Health Island may occasionally remind you about a known open construction project or an unfinished fishing-log chapter. These reminders are scheduled entirely on your iPhone, contain no Health values and open the island when tapped. The iPad companion does not schedule them.

Beta installation problems

The app page always has the current link. Open it on iPhone or iPad, install TestFlight and accept the Health Island invitation.

Report a problem

In the Logbook, you can voluntarily turn the floating feedback button on or off. Regular App Store builds start with it off; it remains on by default for existing testers in Debug and TestFlight builds. Turning it on does not send any data. Under My Reports, you can later view only your own reports and our replies.

Tell us where the issue happened, what you expected, what happened instead, the device and iOS version, and whether it repeats. Only when you deliberately submit the report does the service process your text, local avatar name, pseudonymous reporter link, technical context and an automatically captured visible app screen when capture succeeds. Never include health values or sensitive content.

Your feedback text, attached app screen and avatar name are visible only to you and the Health Island team. Other users cannot see your report, image or our reply. Technical context and the reporter link remain internal.
